**EDIT 16 JUNE 2021** – Noisily has now had to be postponed to 2022, due to the original roadmap end date of 21st June being pushed back by the government to the 19th July. I hugely applaud them for doing everything they could to be one of the first festivals back, it’s such a shame that rules meant it just couldn’t happen. I can’t wait to see them in 2022!
One of my favourite festivals from 2019 – Noisily Festival – is back this year and will be one of the first weekend festival events we will have had for two years, should the government’s roadmap out of lockdown continue on schedule. This small but mighty woodland weekend of electronica has something very special – a great vibe and an excellent community.
After the year we’ve all had, I know we’re all aching to get back to the fields, but I also know lots are anxious about going “back to normal”. I have all fingers crossed for smaller events with perhaps entry testing or similar, and extra hygiene procedures. I know that Noisily are doing everything in their power to go ahead safely, whatever that may look like at the time.
I spoke to their team and was able to ask them some questions about their plans for this year:
Hi Noisily! So, 2021! What COVID/hygiene procedures are being put in place? Even if we are completely free of restrictions I think hygiene will still be on a lot of people’s minds. Also will there be more camping space/space around stages?
We are planning enhanced cleaning procedures and hygiene stations across the site to ensure a safe happy healthy event. Wherever possible we are planning for extra space on stages and across all areas of the festival.
What have the Noisily team been up to the past year? Any new surprises in store with the extra time to plan?
We wish we’d had extra time to plan! COVID has been a constant mission of planning then replanning! That said, our amazing creative team always has lots of tricks up their sleeves and there is no doubt this year is going to be one to remember.
The Save Noisily campaign was so successful, it was amazing to see the community come together. What makes your community so special?
The relationships forged in the woods are incredibly special, people connect on a very deep level and the vibe that builds over the weekend is like nothing else. There is something about the Noisily experience which attracts solid, kind, dedicated party people – and parting with such an incredible group for 3 solid days creates bonds which can’t be broken. These bonds are what makes it special – you need to come to see it!
Tickets are all sold out, however if one of my readers is desperate to make it to the Coney Woods this summer, could they volunteer? Will there be a resale?

How can we best prepare for Noisily this year? Is there Noisily merch to buy? Are there playlists to listen to? Any outfit suggestions? Dance skills we should learn?

What clothes makes you feel like you’re ready to bounce around in a magical noisy wonderland for three days, to lose your mind and find it again? What outfit makes you feel like you’re ready to transcend all the bullshit we’ve gone through in the last 18 months, to emerge the other side transformed, alive and ready to take on the next chapter? By hook or by crook Noisily made it through 2020, and that is in no small part down to the incredible family that we have built over the years, who supported the event in it’s darker days.
So, to the future! Noisily is back on track and we are moving full steam ahead with a few cheeky changes. So, before we embark on another 8 months of creative content to get your juices flowing, a little bit of housekeeping…
The Virus that shall Not be Named
Obviously we couldn’t jump back in the saddle without addressing the elephant in the room.
Thanks to the fundraiser and subsequent government grant, Noisily’s future is secure even if 2021 is also unable to happen. In this situation we guarantee that all ticket buyers will get a refund if they would like it, minus the booking fee.
However, our view – which is one shared by many of the events industry and is being pushed forward by vast investment by airlines & governments – is that by the summer rapid testing will have gotten to a point where we will be able to go ahead safely. We are deep in planning for this scenario, as well as the many other scenarios that could unfold.
We are well aware of the uncertainty the future holds. However the CRF grant has offered a life line, we have been given the opportunity to comprehensively plan for Noisily 2021 without any risk to your ticket money, the money raised by you in the Save Noisily campaign or the event as a whole, and we are grabbing this golden opportunity by the horns. We will do everything in our power to put on Noisily 2021, but NEVER at the risk of you or anyone’s wellbeing.
We are overwhelmed with excitement at the prospect of breaching Coney Woods with you lot this July. Dear Lord, can you imagine the vibe! INSANE!
The Music
Each year when we weave the line up together, there are a small number of more sought after artists on it who are based abroad. The musical programming at Noisily has long been about the complete soundtrack of the weekend, not the individual artist, and we love to welcome performers who are as much at the festival to party as to play – they always just get the vibe and never fail to perform – unlike some of the bigger names.
However, balancing these performers has always been a hard call to make as our “Headliners” create the most hype in the build up to the event. This year, though, given the new world we live in, we have made the decision to take the plunge and balance the line up, celebrating more local artists from the Noisily Family who will blow the bloody doors off as well as anyone with a bigger price tag.
FEAR NOT! There will of course be a plethora of names you recognise, banging beats all weekend from up and comers and industry legends to boot, with some friends from further afield joining us too. We think that this change is going to create an even more electric vibe on the dance floor and couldn’t be more excited about stepping into a new era of Noisily!
