In May, I received one of the most exciting emails I’ve had in my festival blogger career to date! I had been selected by Debenhams and was asked to come along to Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park on the Sunday as a VIP! Needless to say I did a little happy dance around my office! There were going to be a whole girl gang of amazing bloggers attending the event with Debenhams and I was as excited to meet them all as I was for the festival itself.
Before the festival, we were each asked to choose an outfit from Debenhams for the day. I am not all that fashionable in day to day life, and at festivals I normally just wear something outrageous and slap some glitter on! So this was fun but also a bit difficult for me!
My Debenhams outfit for Wireless Festival:

I ordered a few things to try, and ended up choosing the wildcard option that I did not expect would suit me but did! I wore this Red Herring two piece co-ord set (£22 for the top & £29 for the bottoms) and it was perfect for the 30+ degree heat we had on the day! Loose and flowy but bright and stylish. I had never owned or worn a two piece before but I might have to try more now. Of course I also had to have a bumbag! I went for this stripey number from The Pack Society (£15) which held everything I needed for the day.

Finally and most excitingly, I got to choose a pair of trainers from Debenhams’ range of brands, which meant I could finally get my hands on these gorgeous suede Puma trainers (£50) I had been lusting over for ages! Sky blue and white, and super comfy even on the first wear, these were great to dance in the whole day.

Meeting the other bloggers
We were going to be at Wireless festival for the Sunday, and I had woken up that morning in a tent, still at Noisily festival! I made sure we left sharpish though and drove straight back down to London where I met up with Luisa at her place, had a shower and got ready (thank you again!). We both headed off in our outfits ready to meet the others!

We picked up our VIP wristbands & lanyards, and headed to the Bohemia area to meet up with the Debenhams team and the other bloggers. I was slightly nervous about meeting all these ladies, they are all blog royalty! But I had nothing to worry about. Every single one was super lovely and friendly! We made the perfect girl gang for the day.

I loved how we’d all picked such different festival fashion looks! It was great to see each of the bloggers individual styles. Here’s a list of the amazing ladies I met that day, click on their names to check out their fantastic blogs:
- Lucy of AbsolutelyLucy – travel blogger taking on the world one country at a time
- Giulia F Smith – London lifestyle, relationships & travel blogger
- Noelle of ByNoelle – Swedish-born, travel-loving London lifestyle blogger
- Richael of Shell La Belle – lovely Irish style blogger recently moved from Tipperary to London
- Martha of MarthaDahhling – lifestyle blogger focused on fashion, food and travel
- Luisa of Luisa-Christie – alright I’ve already known Luisa for years (hello bestie!) so didn’t meet her at Wireless but her vegan, cruelty-free and festival focused blog is fab

Wireless Festival itself – what did we get up to?
After we arrived and had our introductions, Noelle, Lucy and I went to get our hair done at the Schwarzkopf tent. I had attempted to put my hair in space buns in the morning but went so the lovely stylists could do it properly!
We then all went to watch Rick Ross on the main stage. I have to say this festival was packed! It seemed maybe a little too many people for the size, it wasn’t easy to move around. But we had a great time anyway!

It helped that we could nip back to the VIP area between acts as it was just to the right of the main stage. It was actually really nice in there, with proper toilets, good food and a great bar without a huge queue. I would definitely consider getting VIP tickets if I came to Wireless again! Speaking of food, I finally also got to try Mama’s Jerk (been on my list for ages) and omgosh that jerk chicken wrap was HEAVENLY. I’m going to have to go to Pop Brixton a whole lot more often to get my jerk fix.

While we had some down time in the VIP area, we of course took lots of photos, making use of the giant deck chairs they had in there, and we bumped into none other than Brooklyn Beckham, who was super lovely and took a photo with me! Possibly the most famous person I’ve ever met, and he got talking to me about my wristbands!

We headed back out again to watch Giggs (who was Giulia’s favourite!) and to discover who the ‘secret headliner’ was. DJ Khaled had pulled out due to “transport problems” – it’s widely reported that he hates flying – and they were keeping quiet about who his replacement was. The whole site was alive with rumours that it would be megastar Drake replacing him.

Giggs was really good, despite not being my usually style of music I found myself bopping along. It was getting really busy at the main stage by now but we had secured a great viewing spot, as you can see by the above pic where I’m trying to capture the perfect photo. We also continued to take lots of group photos. Did I say how much I enjoyed meeting these awesome gals?

At the end of Giggs set, the excitement was palpable, and before his last song he said into the mic “London, make some noise for my brother Drizzy right now!” and Drake bounded onto the stage whilst they launched into their collab “KMT”. The whole arena went nuts; people ran in from the outskirts of the crowd, trees were climbed, bins were jumped on top of… it was crazy!

Drake set was short (well, honestly, super short! only 20 mins!) but still sweet. He played Mob Ties, 8 Out Of 10, Nice For What, In My Feelings, and God’s Plan (not all in their entirety). Drake is not someone I would have paid to see on his own, but I’m glad I got to see him at Wireless Festival as he’s a pretty big deal and a great performer!

Huge thank you to Debenhams for inviting me!
I had such an incredible time, especially meeting all the bloggers!
And best of all, I felt amazing in my new outfit and fab trainers!

Photos either taken by me, or by the lovely AbsolutelyLucy on her Olympus PEN!
Loved this Jessi! Especially the contrast of the orange co-ord and the blue Pumas! IT was such a fab day!
